Brokerage Agent, Imports

What you will do

• Execute import brokerage operations accurately and on time while meeting established KPI and District Excellence standards.
• Process shipment events, in-bond transactions, customs clearance activities, customer billing, and required operational codes.
• Maintain current customer legal documents and comply with customer SOPs, company controls, trade compliance requirements, and credit policies.
• Communicate proactively with carriers, customers, service providers, and other interested parties, escalating issues when necessary.
• Monitor operational effectiveness metrics, participate in huddle meetings, and complete required training and development activities.
• Identify risks, prevent monetary losses, and report unsafe conditions, incidents, or accidents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in foreign trade or equivalent education and experience.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
• Customer-service orientation with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Time-management skills, attention to detail, self-direction, and professional relationship-building abilities.
• Good computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and tools, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience in US customs brokerage and hands-on knowledge of customs clearance functions are preferred.
