AI Engineer (Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, Menlo Park, or New York City, United States

Estimated annual base salary: $195,000–$255,000 USD

Healthcare technology company building a revenue cycle automation platform to simplify billing, improve claims processing, and reduce administrative waste for medical providers.

What you will do

• Build AI features and ML use cases across the revenue cycle management platform.
• Identify opportunities where AI and ML techniques can improve business outcomes, efficiency, and cost savings.
• Scale prototypes into production-ready solutions used across the customer base.
• Automate technically complex workflows, including claim submission, claim resubmission, and workflow optimization.
• Architect AI infrastructure and structure data to support development across the product.
• Establish scalable processes for model training, testing, monitoring, and security.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience building software at significant scale and complexity.
• 5+ years of professional AI engineering experience, preferably applying AI to real-world solutions.
• Experience building systems that leverage machine learning technologies, including NLP models.
• Ability to evaluate AI approaches and choose between deterministic ML and non-deterministic LLM solutions.
• Strong architecture, communication, customer-first, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, PostgreSQL, Metabase, Terraform, or Python.
