Systems Engineer

Location: Sterling, Virginia, United States; onsite role with up to 10% CONUS and 10% OCONUS travel, including hazard areas as required

Salary: $77,000–$163,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead design reviews, plan reviews, infrastructure commissioning, and technical troubleshooting of system failures.
• Track assigned actions through completion and maintain current technical knowledge and certifications.
• Support equipment deployments, recaps, testing, installations, and shipment preparation.
• Develop recapitalization plans for station infrastructure using documented lifecycle data.
• Travel domestically and overseas as required to support customer infrastructure activities.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph required.
• At least 6 years of experience in facilities design, maintenance, renovation, and construction project management.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in architecture or engineering; equivalent experience may substitute.
• Experience with construction and repair budgets, construction documents, contract documentation, and federal building and safety codes.
• Knowledge of FAR requirements for A&E and construction contracting, Department of State overseas facilities procedures, and overseas construction security requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; strong written, representational, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of RF principles and methods.
• Experience with process improvement technologies.
• Familiarity with COMSEC policies and regulations and the FS MAXIMO Asset Management System.
• Advanced degree in engineering.
