Manager of Accounts Payable (Fintech)

Location: Chicago, IL; Menlo Park, CA; or New York, NY, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

Base pay: $96,000–$145,000 USD annually, depending on compensation zone and location. Additional bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits are available.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end Accounts Payable operations, including payment processing, system implementations and upgrades, process improvement, and optimization across P2P and ERP environments.
• Oversee two-way and three-way purchase order matching, invoice exception resolution, vendor discrepancy investigations, and invoice-to-pay accuracy.
• Lead automation initiatives using AI and robotics-enabled solutions to improve AP efficiency and accuracy.
• Design processes, controls, performance metrics, and reporting frameworks for data-driven decision-making.
• Oversee non-USD and manual payments, Sales & Use Tax, VAT/GST, Form 1099 issuance, corporate cards, travel and expense programs, and AP-related Treasury support.
• Build cross-functional partnerships and lead, mentor, and develop Accounts Payable team members.

Requirements

• 7–8 years of core Accounts Payable experience in a comparable business environment with P2P and ERP integration.
• Hands-on experience with two-way and three-way PO matching, invoice exceptions, and vendor reconciliation.
• Experience leading system implementations, process improvement initiatives, and automation programs.
• Working knowledge of non-USD and manual payments, Sales & Use Tax, VAT/GST, and Form 1099 requirements.
• Proficiency with P2P, ERP, and corporate spend management tools; experience with Coupa, Oracle, Brex, Ramp, Navan, or Workday is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, reporting, communication, collaboration, and people-management skills, with a consistent record of role stability and tenure.

Nice to have

• Experience applying best practices from comparable systems such as SAP or Concur.
