Senior Manager of HR

Salary: $153,000–$220,000 annually

What you will do

• Build the U.S. HR foundation, including policies and programs for leave, benefits, onboarding, offboarding, and employee handbooks.
• Lead headcount planning with Finance, Recruiting, and department leaders.
• Own job architecture, leveling, salary bands, market benchmarking, annual compensation reviews, and promotion processes.
• Run performance management, manager coaching, employee relations investigations, conflict resolution, and retention initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. and California employment law, including leave, pay transparency, wage and hour rules, and required training.
• Manage Workday, HR data, reporting, benefits brokers, vendors, and the growing HR team while coordinating with Korea headquarters.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in an HR Business Partner or HR leadership role supporting technical or engineering teams.
• Experience building HR policies and programs from the ground up in a high-growth environment.
• Strong knowledge of California employment law and compliance.
• Hands-on experience with compensation, leveling, market benchmarking, and workforce planning.
• Experience handling complex employee relations matters and using Workday.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and work effectively across cultures and time zones.

Nice to have

• Experience at a U.S. subsidiary of a Korean or other Asia-headquartered company.
• Korean language proficiency.
• Background in automotive, EV, or semiconductor companies.
• SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification.
