Flight Software Engineer (Embedded)

Location: San Francisco, United States

Base salary: $130,000–$175,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Develop spacecraft avionics software that commands and monitors satellites.
• Build ground control and telemetry software.
• Develop automated tests at component, functional, and system levels, including hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Implement low-level software interfaces for spacecraft components.
• Improve and troubleshoot real-time operating system components.
• Collaborate with hardware teams and support recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent knowledge.
• Experience with C or C++.
• Experience with Linux and shell command-line tools.
• Hands-on design and development experience in a fast-paced environment.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required.

Nice to have

• Experience designing real-time systems or building bare-metal embedded software.
• Experience reading schematics and datasheets and debugging embedded hardware with debuggers, logic analyzers, or oscilloscopes.
• Experience with web development frameworks, databases, or test framework development.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop systems.
