Commercial Credit Senior Associate (CRE Construction Monitoring)

What you will do

• Underwrite new commercial credit requests and material modifications from deal screening through approval and the life of the loan.
• Manage commercial real estate credit portfolios through annual reviews, interim updates, covenant monitoring, problem-loan management, and early-warning analysis.
• Review financial statements, tax returns, appraisals, due diligence reports, industry research, credit bureau data, and peer information.
• Build cash-flow analyses, collateral schedules, covenant sensitivity calculations, financial models, and guarantor statement analyses.
• Recommend risk ratings, transaction structures, terms, conditions, controls, collateral, and guarantors while presenting analysis to credit committees.
• Partner with relationship managers, analysts, clients, and internal credit teams throughout transaction execution and portfolio management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, plus 5 years of experience in commercial credit, public accounting, financial statement analysis, or related financial analysis; an alternative path requires 9 years of combined higher education and work experience, including 5 relevant years.
• Strong analytical skills, including financial modeling, credit metrics, ratio analysis, and trend analysis.
• Emerging proficiency in legal documentation, structural analysis, and independently structuring transactions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, build customer relationships, and use Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Experience with Capital IQ, FactSet, Bloomberg, nCino, or ARGUS.
• Experience with construction-monitoring portfolio management and underwriting.
