Relief Pharmacist

Location: Phoenix, Arizona, United States — 2401 W. Grandview Rd; onsite, part time

This per diem role is paid at an hourly rate.

What you will do

• Review and interpret veterinary prescriptions for appropriate dosing, interactions, incompatibilities, and toxic combinations.
• Dispense pet prescriptions in accordance with pharmacy policies, regulations, and applicable laws.
• Counsel pet owners and maintain accurate medication profiles.
• Manage controlled-drug records and prepare controlled-drug requests for delivery by pharmacy technicians.
• Verify pharmacy technician and ancillary personnel work, including data entry, cassette filling, and unit-dose distribution.
• Participate in clinical programs, special studies, continuing education, and quality initiatives.

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree.
• 6–12 months of pharmacy experience.
• Current pharmacist license in good standing in the state of operation and other required states.
• Ability to apply pharmacy principles, laws, policies, and procedures; perform mathematical calculations; and use pharmacy equipment and computer terminals.
• Ability to communicate professionally, exercise critical thinking, maintain attention to detail, and work reliably.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
