Director, Equity Accounting

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY, with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote

Base annual salary: $220,000–$250,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end accounting, valuation, forecasting, administration, and settlement of global equity incentive plans.
• Provide subject matter expertise on stock-based compensation, equity matters, accounting standards, company policy, and US GAAP.
• Research and implement technical accounting changes, document complex accounting matters, and prepare transaction memos.
• Support quarterly consolidated financial statements and SEC disclosures, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, 3, 4, and proxy filings.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and the company accounting policy manual.
• Coordinate with HR, Legal, Payroll, Treasury, senior leadership, accounting teams, and independent auditors while identifying and documenting SOX process risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification required.
• At least 7 years of related experience, including preferably 5 years in public accounting.
• SEC reporting experience, strong US GAAP knowledge, technical accounting research skills, and Big Four experience.
• Experience with financial reporting for a technology company, including revenue recognition, internal-use software development, and impairment considerations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including preparing technical accounting memos and explaining accounting matters to senior executives.
