Accounting Manager, Payments and Platform Services Revenue (Payments)

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Lead billing, reconciliation, and revenue recognition for payments and platform services in the US and Canada.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of payment money movements, including origination, reconciliation, reporting, and error handling.
• Manage POS terminal revenue, billing, inventory accounting, and Merchant Capital Advance accounting.
• Own month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, flux analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Investigate payment incidents, variances, errors, and potential losses with risk, underwriting, sales, operations, backend systems, and external partners.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the payments revenue accounting team while driving documentation and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 6–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including payment processing or transactional revenue experience.
• At least 3 years of people-management experience, including hiring, developing, and leading accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition, including multiple-element arrangements and gross-versus-net presentation.
• Knowledge of financial reporting controls, including SOX-style control design, documentation, and testing support.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems; strong analytical, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Public accounting experience, preferably with a Big Four firm.
• NetSuite or Zuora experience.
