Director, SEC Reporting

Location: New York, NY; hybrid schedule with at least three days per week in the office or onsite with clients

Base salary: $138,100–$276,200 per year, plus potential performance-based incentives.

What you will do

• Lead the planning, drafting, review, and filing of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other applicable SEC filings.
• Own the SEC reporting calendar and coordinate cross-functional inputs for accurate, timely delivery.
• Oversee XBRL tagging, final production, disclosure controls, tie-outs, documentation, and reporting workflow improvements.
• Monitor SEC and FASB developments, peer filings, comment letters, and market practices; translate findings into action plans.
• Partner with Legal, the Disclosure Committee, Investor Relations, external auditors, and Accounting Policy & Advisory on filings and disclosure requirements.
• Lead and mentor SEC reporting team members while coordinating information flow across reporting, consolidation, tax, treasury, and FP&A functions.

Requirements

• Active CPA license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive SEC or external reporting experience, ideally within a large accelerated filer or complex public company.
• Expert knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting and disclosure requirements.
• Strong writing and editing skills for financial statement footnotes and disclosure narratives.
• Experience with SEC reporting platforms such as Workiva, large ERP or consolidation environments, audits, DCP, and tie-out controls.

• Master’s degree.

• Experience managing multiple high-priority deliverables under tight deadlines with strong judgment and accuracy.
