Associate Direct Materials Manager (Strategic Sourcing)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; Rochester, New York; or Virtual - US. Travel up to 10% is required.

Salary: $69,600–$146,000 per year.

What you will do

• Manage category strategy and sourcing execution for direct materials such as glass, cans, capsules, screwcaps, wirehoods, closures, and luxury packaging.
• Develop sourcing plans that improve cost, quality, service, supply continuity, innovation, and overall value.
• Lead competitive sourcing, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and supply agreement execution.
• Manage supplier contracts, renewals, renegotiations, extensions, and performance reviews.
• Advance supplier sustainability initiatives and coordinate packaging and procurement risk mitigation with cross-functional partners.
• Track category performance, market conditions, milestones, risks, and savings while communicating recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience; an MBA is preferred.
• At least three years of progressively responsible experience in strategic sourcing, direct materials procurement, procurement consulting, supply chain, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of strategic sourcing, category management, supplier management, and RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes.
• Strong negotiation, contract drafting, contract management, project management, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with new product development, packaging commercialization, or related innovation initiatives, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with procurement, project management, and data-analysis tools.
• Fluent English required; bilingual Spanish is preferred.
