Systems Engineer (IBD)

Location: San Jose, California, United States. Onsite role with up to 20% international and domestic travel.

Salary: $105,316–$157,663 per year, plus bonus opportunity.

What you will do

• Develop technologies for semiconductor equipment systems, including Ion Beam Deposition, etch, and related platforms.
• Build, test, troubleshoot, and document high-vacuum process equipment.
• Design and test new components and subsystems across product lines.
• Define system and component specifications, input/output processes, and hardware/software compatibility parameters.
• Analyze system and process signals using statistical and engineering methods to identify and resolve issues.
• Coordinate system development, prototype evaluation, marathon testing, and beta-site testing with engineering, process development, field support, marketing, and supply chain groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with at least 2 years of experience in electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, or test engineering, or a Master's degree.
• Hands-on experience assembling and disassembling complex parts and conducting prototyping and testing.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, controls, instrumentation, sensors, signal conditioning, data acquisition, LabVIEW, and machine control systems.
• Experience analyzing and presenting engineering data with Python, Excel, or comparable tools.
• Strong written, verbal, communication, presentation, and technical problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with electrical design, troubleshooting, control systems, and 2D CAD.
• Knowledge of PLCs, motion control, interlocks, and machine control architecture.
