Manager, Revenue Cycle Operations

Location: United States (Remote)

Base salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year, plus annual bonus incentive and potential equity purchase program participation.

What you will do

• Lead billing and coding operations across multiple markets, payers, service lines, and payment models.
• Manage Billing and Coding Supervisors and support consistent quality, productivity, timeliness, staffing, and capacity planning.
• Monitor coding queues, billing worklists, claim submissions, denials, rejections, backlogs, and Revenue Cycle KPIs.
• Resolve complex billing, coding, workflow, staffing, and payer issues, escalating matters to Revenue Integrity or Compliance when needed.
• Coach supervisors and their teams through performance management, leadership development, hiring, onboarding, and training.
• Improve workflows, SOPs, controls, and operational readiness for new markets, payers, and programs through cross-functional partnership.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive Revenue Cycle experience, including substantial coding and billing operations experience.
• 3+ years of direct people leadership experience, including management of supervisors or other frontline leaders.
• Certified Professional Coder certification from AAPC or AHIMA required.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, documentation requirements, payer edits, and coding compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage productivity, quality, turnaround time, backlog, denials, and worklist performance.
• Strong communication and relationship-management skills across clinical, operational, technical, analytics, and compliance teams.

Nice to have

• CPPM, CPCO, or CHFP certification.
• Experience with Athenahealth or a comparable EHR or practice management platform.
• Experience in pediatric, value-based, or high-growth environments.
