Certified Coder (PRN) (Medical Coding): Reviewing and auditing medical records, billed services, and DRG assignments to ensure accurate outpatient coding and regulatory compliance with an accent on clinical documentation, coding integrity, and CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 standards. Focus on validating DRG assignments, recommending corrections, responding to payer and governmental audits, and maintaining daily accuracy and production targets.

What you will do
- Review medical records and billed services for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with current coding guidelines.
- Validate diagnosis-related group assignments using clinical documentation and coding information.
- Audit billed services and recommend corrections to preserve coding integrity.
- Assist with payer and governmental audits of billed services.
- Apply current CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes and collaborate with healthcare teams on clinical documentation.
- Meet established daily accuracy and production standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of inpatient medical coding experience with DRG validation.
- One or more required credentials: AHIMA CCS, or AAPC CPC and COC.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to produce detailed documentation and reports.
- Passing scores on job-related pre-employment assessments.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
