Backend Engineer (Go)

Location: West London, United Kingdom; office-based four days a week with one remote day of choice

What you will do

• Write high-quality, performant backend code primarily in Go.
• Build new microservices and help migrate away from legacy services.
• Translate product requirements into concrete technical designs with product managers, designers, and data scientists.
• Maintain system responsiveness, latency, and reliability under heavy load.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building and maintaining scalable backend services.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and experience with Go or another programming language such as Python, C++, or Ruby.
• In-depth knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2) or higher, with the ability to discuss technical trade-offs.
• Ability to work from the West London office four days per week, with one remote day available.

Nice to have

• Experience with system design and a strong record of engineering achievements.
