Software Engineer (Scala)

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and deploy high-quality software for the hirify.global Platform.
• Develop Scala-based backend microservices for scalable, high-performance distributed systems.
• Work with functional and strongly typed programming approaches, including Cats and Shapeless.
• Build persistence solutions using event sourcing and CQRS.
• Collaborate across the wider system and apply DevOps tooling, automation, and deployment practices.

Requirements

• Commercial experience with Scala and functional programming, or relevant commercial Java experience combined with non-commercial Scala experience.
• Experience across the full engineering life cycle, from design and implementation through testing and deployment.
• Experience with DevOps tooling and approaches.
• Ability to design well-engineered solutions for complex problems and consider their impact on the wider system.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data technologies, especially Spark, Hadoop, or Elasticsearch.
• Experience building production batch data-processing or analytics pipelines.
• Experience cleansing, parsing, standardizing, and improving data quality and integrity.
