Assistant/Associate Professor – Educational Leadership

Location: Texarkana, Texas, United States; remote work is authorized, but periodic campus attendance is required.

Texas A&M University–Texarkana delivers doctoral education through its EdD in Educational Leadership program.

What you will do

• Teach doctoral-level Educational Leadership courses in a fully online EdD program with required synchronous evening engagement.
• Design instruction focused on applied research, evidence-based leadership, and organizational improvement.
• Mentor doctoral students and serve on dissertation committees, including chairing Dissertation of Practice projects after onboarding.
• Maintain an active research agenda, publish peer-reviewed scholarship, and present at professional conferences.
• Pursue external funding and contribute to grant development, program assessment, curriculum refinement, and continuous improvement.
• Support doctoral recruitment, retention, completion, accreditation, institutional effectiveness, and university service.

Requirements

• PhD or EdD in Educational Leadership or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Peer-reviewed scholarly publications and demonstrated teaching potential appropriate to the rank.
• Professional experience in educational leadership, administration, or organizational leadership in educational contexts.
• Associate Professor candidates must also have at least five years of service at the Assistant Professor rank and demonstrated graduate-level teaching effectiveness.
• Eligibility to work in the United States is required at the time of hire; no pre-employment sponsorship is authorized.
• Ability to attend campus meetings and other initiatives periodically with prior notice.

Nice to have

• Experience serving on or chairing doctoral dissertation committees.
• Experience teaching graduate research methods and mentoring applied research or Dissertation of Practice projects.
• Experience teaching in fully online graduate programs.
• Experience with program development, accreditation, institutional effectiveness, external funding, or grant development.
