Assistant/Associate Professor, Math/STEM Education

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas, United States. Full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position beginning Fall 2027.

What you will do

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics education and related areas.
• Mentor, advise, supervise, and support educator-preparation students.
• Develop a productive research agenda in mathematics education and STEM education.
• Publish scholarly work, present research, and pursue external funding as appropriate.
• Contribute to program development and collaborate with educational partners.
• Provide service to the department, college, university, and profession.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Mathematics Education or a closely related field; advanced ABD candidates may be considered for the Assistant rank if the degree is conferred by the appointment date.
• At least 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics Education or a closely related area.
• Three years of certified EC-12 mathematics teaching experience.
• Familiarity with educator preparation and certification standards.
• Evidence of an emerging research record.
• Associate-rank candidates additionally need five years of full-time university faculty experience, including at least four years as an assistant professor, plus demonstrated university-level teaching, mentoring, supervision, or advising experience.

Nice to have

• Professional organization membership and active involvement.
• Scholarly research and publication in mathematics education or STEM.
• Experience with grant writing and securing external funding.
• Experience mentoring doctoral students and serving on or chairing dissertation committees.
• Experience with instructional technology and online course development.
