Assistant Professor - Psychology & Special Education (Clinical Psychology)

Location: Commerce, Texas, United States; full-time, tenure-track faculty position beginning Fall 2027.

East Texas A&M University is an R2 research institution developing a new PsyD program in Clinical/School Psychology.

What you will do

• Develop and sustain a research program resulting in peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and other scholarly contributions.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in research.
• Teach graduate courses in Clinical Psychology, including Psychopathology and Diagnosis, Personality Psychology, and Assessment.
• Develop curricula, prepare syllabi, and update course materials, including materials for online teaching.
• Help develop and deliver the new PsyD in Clinical/School Psychology and contribute to departmental programs.
• Provide service to the department, university, public schools, community, and profession.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or a closely related field completed before Fall 2027.
• Commitment to high-quality teaching and evidence-based assessment and intervention.
• Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, collaborative, and professional skills.
• Ability to work beyond normal office hours and on weekends when needed.
• Ability to travel.

Nice to have

• Licensed or license-eligible psychologist in Texas.
• Experience mentoring graduate or undergraduate research students.
• University teaching experience, including graduate-level instruction.
• Online teaching experience and experience contributing to clinical psychology curriculum development.
