Principal Solutions Architect (Government)

Location: Chantilly, Virginia, United States; full-time onsite, five days per week. No relocation is offered.

Salary: $174,100–$261,100 USD annual

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end solution architecture for a critical government program.
• Develop the technical vision, architecture roadmap, engineering strategy, and enterprise architecture framework.
• Integrate network, security, cloud, OSS/BSS, monitoring, automation, service management, and operational platforms.
• Evaluate architectural alternatives, conduct technical trade studies, and manage complex architectural risks.
• Establish architecture standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices while leading architecture review boards and technical design reviews.
• Support requirements analysis, system decomposition, interface definition, transition planning, and operational readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, telecommunications, or a related technical field.
• At least 15 years of experience designing and integrating large-scale enterprise IT, telecommunications, cloud, or network solutions.
• Experience as a lead architect on complex federal programs and in developing enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of network architecture, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, automation, and service management systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance.
• Onsite work in Chantilly, Virginia five days per week is required; relocation is not offered.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related discipline.
• Experience with enterprise telecommunications, managed network services, and SD-WAN architectures.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture, network transformation, IT service management, and automation platforms.
• TOGAF, CISSP, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, PMP, or equivalent certification.
