Operations Manager (Medium Voltage)

Location: USA-Remote; preference for candidates living in the Northeast to support coverage of medium-voltage projects.

Salary: $111,000–$161,500 per year, plus benefits and potential performance incentives.

What you will do

• Build hirify.global’s Medium Voltage Operations & Maintenance Department, including hiring and developing crews from an initial three-person team to a planned 21-person department.
• Create SOPs, MOPs, JHAs, quality systems, training plans, and apprenticeship structures for medium-voltage work.
• Lead the transition of preventative and corrective maintenance from third-party contractors to internal crews while maintaining client service levels.
• Provide technical oversight for medium-voltage systems, subcontractors, testing reports, field findings, and repair-versus-replace recommendations.
• Oversee nationwide scheduling, dispatch, crew travel, safety compliance, KPIs, work orders, inventory, and AssetPlanner records.
• Manage the department budget, fleet and tooling plans, cost savings, and participation in a 24/7 emergency corrective-maintenance rotation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in medium-voltage electrical maintenance, including multi-site and multi-OEM field work.
• Experience leading crews, teams, or departments in electrical services, utilities, or renewable energy.
• Direct experience with transformer diagnostics, switchgear maintenance, and protective relay systems, including SEL, ABB, or GE platforms.
• OSHA-30 and NFPA 70E certification required.
• Experience managing third-party medium-voltage subcontractors and reviewing testing reports, technical deliverables, and field findings remotely.
• Master Electrician license or equivalent extensive medium- or high-voltage field experience is preferred.

Nice to have

• AVO Substation Maintenance I & II, Transformer Maintenance & Testing, or SEL protective relay application training.
• Experience transitioning outsourced work scopes to internal teams.
• Prior $1M–$3M budget or P&L ownership.
• Experience with AssetPlanner or a similar CMMS.
