Safety Manager (Active Secret Clearance Required)

Location: Remote when not traveling; must reside in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, or Wisconsin. The role covers the central geographic region and requires 75% travel. Conditions list Herndon, Virginia.

Salary: $90,000–$100,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage safety and occupational health programs across DCSA facilities and conduct annual facility safety assessments.
• Investigate mishaps and hazards, track corrective actions, and implement programs addressing ergonomic, occupational, and illness risks.
• Prepare facility, mishap, hazard, ergonomic, industrial hygiene, training, and monthly status reports.
• Provide regional safety training, consultation, and technical guidance to DCSA personnel, including quarterly MS Teams training sessions.
• Oversee safety compliance during facility renovations and Military Construction projects, including punch walks and risk mitigation.
• Develop and maintain a Quality Control Plan covering inspections, deficiency management, corrective actions, documentation, performance requirements, and customer feedback.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of hands-on experience in environmental health and safety or a related field, with certification in risk management and health and safety management.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental science, industrial engineering, or a related safety field.
• U.S. citizenship and a current, valid Secret security clearance are required.
• Current, valid driver’s license and ability to travel 75% of the time.
• Must reside in one of the specified central-region states.
• Ability to comply with OSHA standards, DoD directives, and DCSA-specific policies.

Nice to have

• Certified Safety Professional certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or equivalent credentials.
