Workers' Compensation Lost Time Adjuster

What you will do

• Manage the full lifecycle of workers' compensation claims from investigation through resolution.
• Determine compensability and coverage through interviews, evidence gathering, and analysis of medical, legal, and employment documentation.
• Develop claim strategies for complex, litigated, catastrophic, and high-severity files.
• Manage EDI reporting and CMS Section 111 compliance while staying current with jurisdictional requirements.
• Collaborate with defense counsel, negotiate settlements, and use vendors and cost-containment tools to control claim costs.
• Provide clear reporting to clients and excess carriers while maintaining responsive client relationships and mentoring colleagues.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of workers' compensation claims-handling experience.
• Experience with lost-time claims, compensability analysis, and claim strategy.
• Active adjuster licenses as required by the applicable jurisdiction, or the ability to obtain them.
• Knowledge of workers' compensation laws, jurisdictional requirements, and medical terminology.
• Strong investigation, analysis, decision-making, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with claims systems and the ability to manage multiple priorities while handling sensitive information.
