Shift Supervisor (Power Generation)

Location: Preston, Connecticut, United States; onsite at a heavy industrial power-generation and resource-recovery facility

Salary: $108,900–$155,600 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations during an assigned rotating shift.
• Supervise high-pressure boilers, turbines, steam-generation systems, electric-generating equipment, instrumentation, control systems, and supporting equipment.
• Conduct plant rounds, monitor operating conditions, and coordinate operations and maintenance personnel.
• Respond to injuries, equipment failures, emergencies, and abnormal operating conditions, directing actions to restore safe and stable operation.
• Approve equipment clearances, lockout/tagout procedures, and safety permits while coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Train, mentor, and develop shift personnel and lead projects assigned by the Operations Manager.

Requirements

• At least three years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with high-pressure boilers and electric-generating equipment.
• Detailed knowledge of steam-generating power plant operations, instrumentation, and control systems.
• High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor of Science degree is preferred.
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, including weekends, holidays, outage periods, overtime, and vacation coverage.
• Ability to perform physical work including climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights and in confined spaces, and wearing a full-face respirator.

Nice to have

• Power-generation or resource-recovery experience.
• Bachelor of Science degree.
