Lead Engineer (Protection & Controls)

Location: Manchester, NH, United States; hybrid schedule. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required as necessary, including emergency restoration assignments.

Annual salary: $145,670–$161,860, plus potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Supervise, assign, prioritize, and direct the work of Protection & Controls Engineering personnel.
• Lead engineering and design for protective relays, relay settings, and associated transmission and distribution systems.
• Develop preliminary engineering designs, design standards, infrastructure strategies, and operating philosophies.
• Provide design guidance for system planning, transmission and distribution interconnection requests, and distributed generation projects.
• Evaluate system operations and failures, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical direction during normal and emergency situations and assume project management responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering; emphasis in Power Systems is desired.
• At least eight years of technical, operational, or engineering experience in the electric utility industry, including a strong background in protection engineering.
• Experience supervising engineering personnel is preferred.
• Availability for emergency restoration assignments and travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire.

Nice to have

• Experience with IEC 61850.
