Head of Production Planning (Aerospace)

Location: Mobile working according to the area of responsibility; operations are based in Augsburg, Bremen and Kourou.

MT Aerospace, a subsidiary of OHB, develops, manufactures and tests aerospace components for launch vehicles, satellites, spacecraft and passenger aircraft.

What you will do

• Lead and develop the production planning team, establishing clear responsibilities, standards and planning practices.
• Consolidate programme requirements and manage changes to plans and priorities through transparent decisions.
• Own the Master Production Schedule and analyse capacity, materials, inventory and bottlenecks across planning horizons.
• Manage Material Requirements Planning and improve planning data quality with Purchasing, Production and data management.
• Prepare weekly production plans verified for material and capacity, and provide the supply perspective for S&OP decisions.
• Use SAP and MicroStrategy to monitor planning stability, material availability, capacity and backlogs, while developing planning rules, automation and AI-supported tools.

Requirements

• Several years of production or supply chain planning experience in an industrial organisation with complex manufacturing processes, long lead times and material dependencies.
• In-depth practical knowledge of S&OP, MPS, MRP, material planning and capacity planning.
• Very strong practical and systematic knowledge of SAP R/3, especially PP/MRP and relevant MM interfaces.
• Experience using BI tools and MicroStrategy for reporting and planning control.
• Ability to identify future bottlenecks, develop alternatives and resolve critical planning issues.
• Clear leadership and communication skills for working with programme management, production, procurement and senior management.

Nice to have

• Relevant university degree or comparable qualification with substantial practical planning experience.
