Buyer (Manufacturing Procurement)

Salary: Starting from £41,348 per annum, plus a performance-related bonus.

Company

Fernox is a MacDermid Enthone Industrial Solutions business producing water treatment chemicals, heating system filters, plumbing consumables, and diagnostic testing services for domestic and commercial applications.

What you will do

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned production materials, commodities, and indirect goods and services.
• Lead supplier selection, qualification, negotiations, contract management, and performance reviews.
• Analyse production plans, forecasts, budgets, market data, and purchasing performance.
• Improve supplier cost, quality, delivery, service, capacity, and supply continuity.
• Represent Purchasing in cross-functional teams supporting product development, launches, and business projects.
• Conduct supplier audits and site visits and lead procurement continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least three years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Commercial negotiation and supplier management experience.
• Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and procurement processes.
• Occasional international travel, primarily within Europe and to the United States, is required.

Nice to have

• Power BI and JD Edwards experience.
• CIPS qualification or progress toward membership.
• Experience managing annual spend exceeding £3 million.
• Strategic sourcing, supplier development, manufacturing, engineering, chemicals, or FMCG experience.
• German language skills.
