IoT Engineer (Industrial IoT)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Architect end-to-end Industrial IoT solutions covering edge devices, gateways, connectivity, and cloud platforms.
• Design data acquisition, ingestion, and processing pipelines using PLCs, SCADA, sensors, OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, Sparkplug B, AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, and Kafka.
• Build edge applications, real-time analytics, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance models, dashboards, and operational alerts.
• Integrate IIoT streams with MES, ERP, CMMS, and historian systems through reliable bidirectional data flows.
• Implement secure device management, provisioning, OTA updates, certificate rotation, mTLS, and zero-trust connectivity.
• Collaborate with OT, process engineering, and reliability teams; maintain technical documentation, mentor engineers, and evaluate emerging IIoT platforms.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen, Green Card holder, EAD holder, or H-1B transfer candidate.
• 12+ years of IIoT or industrial software engineering experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or Go.
• Hands-on experience with OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, Sparkplug B, a major cloud IoT platform, and edge runtimes such as AWS IoT Greengrass or Azure IoT Edge.
• Experience with OT/IT integration, streaming and real-time analytics, industrial cybersecurity standards, troubleshooting, communication, and technical documentation.
• New H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored; H-1B transfer candidates may apply.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital-twin platforms and predictive maintenance ML models.
• Exposure to InfluxDB, TimescaleDB, Unified Namespace patterns, or industrial certifications such as ISA and IEC 62443.
