TL;DR
Network Design Specialist (Cisco/HPE Aruba): Designing secure, end-to-end network solutions for critical government, health and policing programmes with an accent on multi-vendor LAN/WAN architecture, high- and low-level designs, and customer requirements. Focus on leading complex technical designs, assuring design quality, integrating network solutions with AWS, and providing technical direction across delivery teams.
Location: Birmingham, United Kingdom; hybrid with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

What you will do
- Lead end-to-end technical design for complex, bespoke enterprise, service-provider and public-sector network solutions.
- Produce high-level and low-level designs from initial concept through delivery.
- Work with customers, stakeholders, Solution Architects, Operations, Security and technology partners to translate requirements into secure solutions.
- Drive design quality through peer reviews, technical governance and assurance.
- Develop statements of work, bills of materials and resource requirements.
- Coach and mentor design and operational specialists while providing technical direction.
Requirements
- Strong experience in end-to-end network solution design.
- Practical expertise with Cisco and/or HPE Aruba LAN/WAN technologies.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and projects and manage customer and senior-stakeholder relationships.
- Must hold or be eligible to achieve SC-level Security Clearance.
- Professional networking certification such as Cisco CCNP or HPE Aruba certification, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience in secure government or other security-sensitive environments.
- Knowledge of network solutions integrating with AWS.
- Experience with Juniper and Palo Alto technologies.
- Experience coaching, mentoring or providing technical guidance to network specialists.
