TL;DR
Networking Engineering Professional (Secure Network Design): Designing secure, scalable, end-to-end network solutions for government, health and policing programmes with an accent on Cisco networking, customer requirements and regulated environments. Focus on translating designs into controlled network changes, resolving technical challenges, and performing root cause analysis across the solution lifecycle.
Location: Birmingham, UK; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home

What you will do
- Design secure, scalable and cost-effective enterprise, service-provider or public-sector network solutions.
- Translate customer and business requirements into clear technical designs and support design integration.
- Collaborate with customers, architects, Operations, Security teams and technology partners.
- Support controlled network changes and ensure implementations follow architectural principles, standards and technical strategy.
- Analyse network and design issues, perform root cause analysis and provide technical expertise throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Maintain design documentation, support change impact assessments and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- Practical network design experience across enterprise, service-provider or public-sector environments.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco WAN/LAN, routing and switching technologies, with network change capability at approximately CCNA level.
- Ability to explain technical decisions clearly, influence technical direction and build relationships with customers and senior stakeholders.
- Must hold or be eligible to achieve SC-level Security Clearance.
- Comfort with a hybrid schedule requiring three office days per week in Birmingham.
Nice to have
- Experience with secure government or similarly regulated networks.
- Experience designing or supporting networks interfacing with AWS.
- Knowledge of Juniper, Palo Alto and HPE Aruba technologies.
- Cisco certification such as CCNA.
