Senior Cloud Operations Engineer (AWS)

Location: Remote in the United Kingdom; night shift from 10 PM to 6 AM. Some travel to physical data centers may be required.

What you will do

• Maintain, monitor, and support business-critical production infrastructure across AWS, Windows, Linux, VMware, and physical compute environments.
• Administer AWS resources, IAM accounts, DNS, FTP, IIS, application environments, and production server sizing.
• Monitor operational metrics, troubleshoot medium-to-complex technical issues, and improve system performance and operational processes.
• Manage Microsoft and Linux OS patching, change management, and infrastructure security.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and communicate incidents to stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership.
• Support physical data center activities including cabling, racking, hardware replacement, and vendor coordination.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working with large-scale production infrastructure.
• 5+ years of Windows Server administration in production environments.
• 5+ years of experience configuring server hardware and operating systems.
• Production experience managing and hardening Linux servers, including RHEL, Ubuntu, or Amazon Linux.
• Strong knowledge of Windows domains, Active Directory, DNS, OS patching, and change management.
• Availability for the 10 PM to 6 AM night shift and remote work from the United Kingdom.

• Experience with PCI or Cyber Essentials compliant environments.
• AWS EKS and ECS, AWS monitoring, relational databases, and configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Experience with SAN or NAS, Okta, Cisco UCS, PowerShell, hardware replacement, and vendor work.
