AI Engineer (Consultant)

Location: London, UK (Hybrid)

Salary: £50,000–£69,000 per annum

Enablis delivers complex, high-impact technology transformation and is building an AI-native consultancy with an internal AI platform and a growing client pipeline.

What you will do

• Contribute to the development of the internal AI platform.
• Build AI-powered client solutions, including RAG pipelines, agent architectures, LLM integrations, and protocol-driven tooling.
• Design internal AI tooling that accelerates delivery.
• Support the technical AI knowledge-sharing and upskilling programme.
• Evaluate emerging AI tools, frameworks, and protocols while helping engineering teams adopt AI pragmatically.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering foundations, including clean code, testing, CI/CD, and a production mindset.
• Hands-on LLM experience through professional or personal projects, including API integrations, prompt engineering, agent workflows, or RAG systems.
• Proficiency in at least two modern programming languages.
• Awareness of evolving AI tooling such as MCP, A2A, or similar protocols.
• Consultancy or client-facing experience, or a strong interest in moving into consultancy.

Nice to have

• Experience with vector databases, embeddings, or fine-tuning.
• Cloud experience, preferably AWS.
• Open-source contributions or visible AI side projects.
• Experience shipping AI-powered features to production.
