Agentic AI Senior Software Engineer

Location: Manchester, UK; hybrid working with at least two days per week or 40% of the time at an office site

What you will do

• Design and evolve architectures for agentic AI services and orchestration capabilities.
• Develop production-grade software and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Build AI-powered services, agentic workflows, and platform capabilities for use across the Group.
• Partner with engineering, architecture, and product teams to deliver AI-enabled solutions.
• Contribute to engineering standards, software lifecycle practices, and technical strategy.
• Drive experimentation, continuous improvement, and adoption of emerging AI technologies.

Requirements

• Strong Python software engineering skills and experience delivering secure, scalable, production-grade applications and services.
• Experience designing and delivering agentic AI solutions, including workflows, tool integration, orchestration patterns, and multi-agent architectures.
• Experience designing and implementing scalable cloud-native systems, platforms, and services.
• Modern software engineering experience, including testing, CI/CD, and software lifecycle management.
• Strong critical thinking and collaboration skills for solving complex technical challenges and working across engineering, architecture, and product teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of large language models, prompting, evaluation, and fine-tuning approaches.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AI observability, monitoring, or evaluation frameworks.
