AI Engineer (Senior Consultant)

Salary: £60,000–£80,000 per annum

What you will do

• Contribute to the development of the internal AI platform.
• Build AI-powered client solutions using RAG pipelines, agent architectures, LLM integrations, and protocol-driven tooling.
• Help design internal AI tools that accelerate technology delivery.
• Support technical AI knowledge-sharing through the internal upskilling programme.
• Evaluate emerging AI tools, frameworks, and protocols and help drive pragmatic AI adoption across engineering teams.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering foundations, including clean code, testing, CI/CD, and a production mindset.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs through API integrations, prompt engineering, agent workflows, or RAG systems; personal projects are accepted.
• Proficiency in at least two modern programming languages.
• Awareness of evolving AI tooling such as MCP, A2A, or similar protocols.
• Consultancy or client-facing experience, or a strong interest in moving into client-facing work.

Nice to have

• Experience with vector databases, embeddings, or fine-tuning.
• Cloud experience, preferably AWS.
• Open-source contributions or visible AI side projects.
• Experience shipping AI-powered features to production.
