Technical Product Owner (API)

What you will do

• Own and maintain the API product backlog using agile development methodologies.
• Translate API strategy into prioritised deliverables, user stories, and measurable outcomes.
• Work with engineering, architecture, security, delivery teams, and stakeholders to gather requirements and manage priorities, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Prioritise third-party use cases with AR firms and platform providers such as FNZ to prove the integration platform.
• Own the API catalogue, developer experience, documentation, onboarding, sandbox, reuse, adoption, and self-service.
• Define and monitor metrics including adoption, availability, response time, time-to-integrate, and reliability.

Requirements

• Experience as a Product Owner or in a similar delivery-focused role, including backlog management in agile environments.
• Strong understanding and ownership experience of API products, system integration, digital platforms, API lifecycle management, versioning, and consumer onboarding.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, Azure API Management, and OpenAPI.
• Experience managing dependencies with third-party platform or SaaS providers and working closely with engineering, architecture, and delivery teams.
• Strong requirements analysis, prioritisation, stakeholder management, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of AI-enabled capabilities; experience in a regulated financial-services environment, such as FCA-regulated organisations, is strongly preferred.
