Staff Reporter (CIO Dive)

Location: Newton, Massachusetts, USA; in-person work three days a week or more, with flexibility to work from home or remotely at other times.

Salary: $53,125–$65,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Write briefs, articles, features, earnings analyses, and other coverage of the IT industry and business technology.
• Develop source relationships with CIOs, organizations, and industry analysts.
• Pitch story ideas and collaborate with editors to refine angles.
• Produce an average of five items per week with varying length and depth.
• Report, write, and edit a daily newsletter collaboratively with the editorial team.
• Identify and support coverage of important industry storylines while meeting tight deadlines.

Requirements

• Strong reporting and writing portfolio.
• Ability to build source relationships and report on complex subjects.
• Experience interpreting and analyzing business and financial news, trends, and concepts.
• Deadline-oriented time management skills and the ability to quickly pivot to emerging news.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in journalism, English, or a related field.
• IT coverage or transferable financial reporting experience is preferred.
