Associate Writer/Editor (Entertainment)

Location: Hybrid in Universal City, California; office attendance required at least three days per week. Expected hours are noon PT to 8 p.m. PT, Monday-Friday.

Salary: $70,000-$750,000 per year

hirify.global is a media and entertainment business operating brands across political news, business news, golf, sports, and genre entertainment, including E! and its digital properties.

What you will do

• Write and publish approximately 5-7 daily entertainment stories, including breaking news, trending stories, galleries, interviews, and evergreen content.
• Monitor entertainment news, social platforms, and search trends to identify relevant stories and compelling angles.
• Create accurate copy, SEO-informed headlines, descriptions, and other content packaging for search, social, and distribution platforms.
• Pitch and conduct celebrity interviews, cover red carpets and award shows in real time, and develop follow-up stories.
• Use analytics and audience insights to evaluate performance and inform editorial decisions.
• Edit and assign stories, collaborate with social and video teams, and occasionally fill in for the assignment editor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of deadline-driven writing experience, ideally in entertainment news, celebrity coverage, or pop culture.
• Excellent writing, editing, fact-checking, and headline-writing skills.
• Working knowledge of SEO and digital publishing best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work the required hybrid schedule in Universal City, California and noon PT to 8 p.m. PT hours.

• Experience identifying viral trends, celebrities, and audience-focused story angles.
• Experience using performance data and audience insights to guide editorial decisions.
• Experience covering live pop culture events and working with cross-functional editorial teams.
