News Editor, CNBC

Location: Hybrid position based at CNBC Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, generally requiring at least three days per week in the office. Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States is required.

Salary: USD 90,000–140,000 yearly

What you will do

• Manage assignment desk news flow, including breaking news, source reporting, story updates, and headline development.
• Coordinate reporters, field producers, anchors, control room teams, digital editors, and other departments.
• Set up live remotes and maintain coverage plans for daily news events and longer-term news series.
• Develop stories and sidebars with reporters and producers, using reliable information from external news sources.
• Manage assignment desk schedules and beat coverage while supporting short-range editorial planning.
• Copy edit and fact-check scripts, making fast and accurate decisions under tight deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
• At least five years of experience in a television newsroom, including organization, leadership, copy editing, and journalism fundamentals.
• Previous business news experience and strong knowledge of financial markets, economics, technology, politics, and financial statements.
• Strong research, succinct writing, verbal communication, copy-editing, and fact-checking skills.
• Ability to multitask, remain calm, collaborate across departments and locations, and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be available to work weekends and flexible hours, and must have unrestricted US work authorization.
