Supplier Industrialization Engineer (SIE) – Electronics & PCBA

Location: Fully on-site at the San Francisco R&D Space, United States, with 30% international travel to supplier and contract manufacturer sites

Salary: $147,500–$197,500 USD per year, with compensation based on experience.

What you will do

• Scale PCBA suppliers to support production ramps for a novel energy generation product.
• Conduct supplier audits, risk assessments, process approvals, part qualifications, and NPI build support.
• Align specifications, tolerance stack-ups, test coverage, process controls, and manufacturing requirements with suppliers and engineering teams.
• Review dimensional, quality, first article, and process-control data, and define incoming inspection criteria.
• Drive supplier non-conformance resolution, 8D investigations, corrective actions, and effectiveness verification.
• Maintain supplier scorecards and support sourcing, dual-sourcing, localization, capacity, and manufacturing-footprint decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, business, economics, or an equivalent technical background.
• 5+ years of experience in supplier quality, industrial engineering, process controls, or related work, ideally in automotive, industrial hardware, or high-volume electronics manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of PCBA manufacturing, including SMT, through-hole wave and selective soldering, reflow oven profiles, and test strategies.
• Proficiency in statistics, schematic and component-drawing interpretation, and manufacturing-process development for high-volume capacity and quality targets.
• Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, SPC, DFMEA/PFMEA, ISO, and AECQ quality systems.
• Willingness to travel internationally to supplier and contract manufacturer sites as needed, approximately 30%.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in industrial engineering, engineering management, or supply chain, or an MBA.
• Experience in fast-paced startup environments.
