Senior Quality Engineer (Electronics)

What you will do

• Own electronics quality across factory production, including PCBAs, soldering, harnesses, cables, and battery packs.
• Respond to production-line quality issues, contain suspect products, disposition defects, and lead electronics nonconformances through MRB closure.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions with engineering and manufacturing, verifying that fixes remain effective in production.
• Define electronics quality metrics, SPC strategy, inspection and test plans, and production dashboards with software teams.
• Drive design for quality during new product introduction and design changes, using production data and lessons learned.
• Own the factory ESD control plan and IPC certification program, including audits and compliance, while mentoring quality engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or physics.
• 5+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, reliability, or electrical design engineering supporting electronics production.
• Experience with SMT processes and inspection, including solder paste, reflow, AOI, X-ray, ICT, or flying probe, and common defect modes.
• Experience with through-hole soldering, component preparation, conformal coating, and other post-SMT processes.
• Experience leading RCCA using 8D, 5 Whys, fishbone analysis, PFMEA, control plans, FAI, and SPC.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for building queries, dashboards, or production-quality tools.

Nice to have

• High-volume electronics production or production-ramp experience, especially with ISO 9001 or AS9100 systems in defense or aerospace.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and ANSI/ESD S20.20.
• Experience with lithium-ion cells and battery-pack quality, including cell matching, weld inspection, and BMS verification.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, basic RF test equipment, drones, RC aircraft, or FPV hardware.
