Sr Staff Reliability Engineer (Semiconductors)

Location: Livermore, California; regular day shift.

Salary: $163,400–$214,410 per year, depending on experience, skills, and background.

What you will do

• Lead reliability qualification strategies for new products, design and material changes, process improvements, and manufacturing transfers.
• Define reliability requirements, risk assessments, stress conditions, sampling plans, acceptance criteria, and product lifetime models.
• Lead complex failure-analysis investigations using SEM/EDS, FIB, FTIR, X-ray analysis, cross-sectioning, nanoindentation, and electrical or mechanical testing.
• Establish root-cause conclusions and drive corrective and preventive actions to improve yield, defect reduction, product robustness, and manufacturing reliability.
• Lead cross-functional technical programs, establish reliability and failure-analysis standards, and maintain laboratory capabilities and test methodologies.
• Present technical findings and reliability assessments to engineering leadership and senior management while mentoring engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in semiconductor or MEMS reliability engineering, failure analysis, product qualification, and process quality.
• Hands-on experience with advanced materials characterization and failure-analysis instrumentation, including SEM, FIB, physical sectioning, and mechanical test systems.
• Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and reliability tools, including SPC, DOE, and JMP.
• Ability to independently lead technical investigations, qualification activities, concurrent projects, and cross-functional problem resolution.
• At least 12 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 8 years with a master's degree, or 5 years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with technical teams, manufacturing, and management.
