Software Engineer in Test, Controls (Automotive)

Salary: $225,000–$275,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.

What you will do

• Define test strategies, architectures, plans, test cases, and automation for new controls features and systems.
• Read Simulink models, Stateflow charts, and generated or handwritten C code to design meaningful tests.
• Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines for model builds, code generation, static analysis, and automated test execution.
• Support MATLAB/Simulink toolchains that generate, compile, and deploy code across multiple targets, including HIL hardware.
• Build and maintain Python, MATLAB/Simulink, CAPL, and shell-based test automation frameworks.
• Execute MIL, SIL, HIL, and vehicle testing; analyze logs, telemetry, and CAN data while resolving integration issues with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded or automotive test engineering or developer infrastructure roles.
• Experience with Simulink, Stateflow, generated or handwritten C code, and MIL/SIL/HIL/vehicle testing.
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, or similar CI/CD platforms.
• Test automation and scripting experience with MATLAB, Python, CAPL, and shell scripting.
• Experience with vehicle CAN networks, LIN, UDS, debugging tools, telemetry analysis, and issue triage.
