Product Engineer (AI)

Location: San Mateo, United States; hybrid

Salary: $200,000–$290,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Build the product-led growth platform across signup, onboarding, documentation, APIs, playground, model selection, pricing, billing, and lifecycle messaging.
• Own developer outcomes from problem discovery and prototyping through production delivery, instrumentation, and learning.
• Build event tracking, funnels, experimentation infrastructure, and lifecycle messaging.
• Design and run experiments, analyze funnel and cohort data, and communicate measurable results.
• Craft fast, accessible experiences on the marketing site and in the product.
• Collaborate with product, design, marketing, data, and sales to support self-serve growth alongside sales-led motions.

Requirements

• 5+ years building and shipping user-facing products, including senior, staff, or founding-engineer work on product or growth surfaces.
• Strong full-stack skills with TypeScript, React, backend services, APIs, data models, and SQL; Go is a plus.
• Experience with A/B testing, funnel analysis, product analytics, and measurable business outcomes.
• Product-engineering mindset, strong product judgment, attention to interaction details, and clear communication.
• Ability to work with ambiguity, act independently, and lead cross-functionally without authority.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, EE, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Growth, activation, or monetization experience at a developer-tools, API, or infrastructure company.
• Experience building developer-facing products such as APIs, SDKs, developer tools, or consoles.
• Experience with usage-based pricing, billing, PLG, self-serve products, trust and safety, or identity systems.
• Experience building with LLM APIs and improving AI developer onboarding.
• Portfolio, side projects, or launches demonstrating product judgment and range.
