Senior Counsel (Fintech)

Location: Miami, United States; hybrid work setup

Salary: $200,000–$225,000 USD starting base salary, plus equity and annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Lead negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements with payout partners, liquidity providers, payment and card networks, stablecoin issuers, crypto infrastructure providers, yield providers, and banking-as-a-service platforms.
• Negotiate technology agreements, including MSAs, API and platform integrations, data-sharing arrangements, and consumer data protection terms.
• Bring commercial contract review in-house and independently manage complex negotiations.
• Own Latin American legal matters covering employment and contractor arrangements, FX and marketing rules, and market-specific regulations.
• Build contract review playbooks and operate them with AI-powered legal technology.
• Develop processes and templates for a growing legal department while handling generalist legal questions.

Requirements

• US-qualified attorney admitted and in good standing, authorized to practice in the state of residence.
• Qualified to practice in at least one Latin American country with experience coordinating legal work across several countries in the region.
• 7+ years of legal experience, ideally including top-tier international law firm experience and at least two years of in-house commercial work at a fintech, bank, or financial services company.
• Hands-on experience with technology deals, MSAs, API integrations, data privacy, and technology partner launches.
• Experience with FX, liquidity providers, credit, yield products, payment rails, pricing, and customer experience implications.
• Spanish fluency at conversational and legal proficiency, including the ability to review Spanish-language agreements and read statutes and regulations without translation.
