Commercial Counsel (AI Legal Tech)

Location: New York City, on-site

Salary: $192,000–$220,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Partner with Growth, Operations, and Procurement on customer and supplier engagements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate B2B customer and supplier contracts.
• Advise on commercial risk allocation, pricing, liability, and contractual protections.
• Support go-to-market and procurement activities through scalable contracting practices.
• Address data protection and compliance considerations in commercial agreements.
• Develop templates, playbooks, and guidelines to standardize negotiations and improve deal velocity.

Requirements

• J.D. or equivalent qualification with admission to practice in at least one U.S. state or another common law jurisdiction.
• At least 4 years of experience at a top-tier law firm and/or as in-house legal counsel.
• Strong experience negotiating B2B SaaS agreements and supporting commercial teams.
• Experience with corporate matters and complex commercial agreements.
• Strong legal judgment, negotiation skills, independence, and the ability to work across time zones.
• Interest in AI and legal technology and the ability to apply these tools in practice.

Nice to have

• Experience with data privacy, IT security, or corporate law.
