Principal Software Engineer - Enterprise Automation Frameworks & Support (AI)

Location: Remote position associated with New York, NY; occasional travel to hirify.global offices may be required for training or meetings.

Salary: $156,600–$215,400 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Define enterprise automation architecture strategies, standards, reference architectures, and roadmaps across business segments.
• Design, develop, and maintain reusable automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, microservices, cloud-native, and distributed applications.
• Integrate automated testing with Azure DevOps, qTest, Jira, CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, and end-to-end traceability workflows.
• Lead AI-enabled testing initiatives, including test generation, self-healing automation, defect prediction, risk-based testing, and intelligent test execution.
• Partner with Engineering, Architecture, DevOps, Product, Platform Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams to improve testing infrastructure and delivery scalability.
• Mentor engineers and establish technical documentation, playbooks, training materials, quality metrics, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software quality engineering, automation engineering, SDET, or software engineering, including 8+ years designing enterprise automation frameworks.
• Hands-on expertise with Selenium, Playwright, Tricentis Tosca, Cypress, Appium, and API automation frameworks.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, qTest, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation for web, API, microservices, cloud-native, and distributed applications.
• Strong programming skills in Java, C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or similar languages, plus knowledge of Agile, continuous integration, continuous testing, and continuous delivery.
• Strong communication, leadership, consulting, and stakeholder management skills; remote work requires a dedicated space protecting member PHI and HIPAA information and reliable internet with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries.
• Experience with AI-driven testing tools, intelligent automation platforms, AI-based testing agents, Generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted software testing.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP and enterprise-wide quality engineering transformation initiatives.
