Sr. Software Development Engineer in Test (Test Automation)

Location: Fridley, Minnesota, United States; onsite work model with flexibility to work remotely on Fridays. No travel is required.

Salary: $124,800–$187,200 annually, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead automated software verification across web, mobile, API, backend, and cloud-connected applications.
• Define test strategies, verification plans, release criteria, and risk-based testing approaches.
• Build reusable test frameworks, automation assets, infrastructure, and CI/CD quality gates.
• Translate requirements into traceable test designs, test cases, protocols, reports, and objective verification evidence.
• Validate end-to-end workflows involving user interfaces, APIs, databases, microservices, and event-driven systems.
• Investigate complex defects, perform root-cause analysis, drive corrective actions, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 2+ years, or a Ph.D. with 0+ years of experience.
• Experience developing and executing automated tests for production applications.
• Experience with web or mobile applications, APIs, distributed systems, source control, defect tracking, and CI/CD tools.
• Experience with Java, JavaScript, or Kotlin and test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, Playwright, Cypress, REST Assured, JUnit, or TestNG.
• Experience with microservices, REST APIs, asynchronous workflows, relational databases, cloud platforms, containers, and CI/CD platforms.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at the time of hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is not available for this role.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated software development environments with requirements traceability, risk-based testing, and audit-ready documentation.
• For degrees earned outside the United States, a qualifying degree under 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).
