Insurance Litigation Attorney (CA License Required) - Remote

Location: Remote anywhere in the United States, excluding Hawaii and Alaska; travel required for depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, arbitrations, trials, and occasional in-person team meetings.

Salary: $150,480–$200,000 across applicable states; Colorado-specific range: $117,000–$185,000. Eligible roles may receive an annual discretionary bonus of 8–12%.

What you will do

• Independently handle an inventory of litigated and non-litigated insurance files across varying levels of complexity and dollar value.
• Conduct all phases of personal injury litigation, including discovery, pleadings, motions, jury trials, arbitrations, and trial briefs.
• Appear and advocate for the insurer and its member insureds in litigation and related proceedings.
• Coordinate with claims specialists, paralegals, and support staff while applying independent analysis and judgment.
• Handle complex legal matters, identify high-liability or special-circumstance issues, and refer matters requiring higher-level review or additional resources.
• Advise and mentor less senior attorneys.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of experience in insurance defense practice, including courtroom experience and first- or second-chair trial experience.
• Law degree and active license to practice law in California in good standing.
• Experience with personal injury litigation, including liability assessment, causation, damages, coverage, personal injury damages and causation, and the tripartite relationship.
• Ability to collaborate with assigned paralegals and support staff.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an organized and timely manner.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and online research tools.
• Ability to advocate creatively, persuasively, and effectively.
• Ability to think and act independently in a client’s best interest.
• Knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of legal ethics.
