Trial Attorney

Location: Hybrid role with required office time at 30 East 7th Street, Suite 3100, St. Paul, Minnesota, United States. Travel to job-related activities and irregular hours may be required.

Salary: $129,500–$175,000 per year, plus potential yearly incentive pay with a 16% target and 24% maximum.

What you will do

• Handle litigation and other legal assignments under Law Department guidelines.
• Own cases and develop trial strategies throughout litigation.
• Attend trials, mediations, depositions, hearings, and other litigation events.
• Prepare and summarize reports for legal proceedings.
• Meet with clients and collaborate with attorneys and support staff.

Requirements

• First-chair jury trial experience and 3–10 years of litigation experience are required. Experience in insurance defense, medical malpractice, personal injury, or workers compensation is preferred within this required experience.
• Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law commensurate with experience.
• Trial, mediation, and deposition experience, plus file ownership.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently with cases in electronic form and working knowledge of a case management system and a document storage system.
• J.D. from an A.B.A.-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Active authorization to practice law in Minnesota and good standing with the State Bar of Minnesota.
• Eligibility to lawfully work in the United States immediately is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• All outside legal practice and suit involvement must cease before joining, except for authorized and pro bono work.
